Where were you born and raised?
I was born in Southeastern KY and raised in the same holler where my mom, granny, and her parents were born and raised. What’s your life story in four sentences?
The best part of my childhood was spent playing outside with my cousins and roaming the mountains that surrounded our house. Because of my mom’s thirst for learning, she was the first and only one in her family, and all four of her children graduated from college. After graduating, I met my husband and we have 2 grown children, whom I stayed home with for 25 years and homeschooled for 15 of those. Now that my husband and I are Empty Nesters, I’m focusing on chasing some dreams like coaching at StrongerLife and becoming a Yoga Teacher.

What do you do for fun outside of StrongerLife?

I enjoy watching the hummingbirds at my feeder and bird watching in general. My hobbies include reading and crocheting. Spending time with family and friends is always a treat.

What is your favorite movement at StrongerLife?
My favorite movement at StrongerLife is the deadlift/sumo deadlift because while doing this lift I feel most powerful. There’s nothing like being able to lift more than you weigh.

Married, family, kids, pets?
My husband and I had a whirlwind romance and married after only knowing one another for 6 months and we’ve been married 31 years. It’s worked for us but I don’t know that I’d recommend it. Whew! We have 2 children. Our daughter, a Physical Therapist’s Assistant, is married to her high school sweetheart, a civil engineer. They have a Golden doodle named Rosie, and she’s my grand-dog. Our son, who is 18 and fiercely independent, is working and moved out this past August making us Empty Nesters. Well, almost Empty Nesters, we have a 6-year-old Miniature Schnauzer, who never leaves my side.
