Kathleen - Fit for LIFE

June’s Athlete of the Month is Kathleen Parris! Kathleen loves exercising and staying active. She brings a positive attitude to class and is always achieving her goal of getting STRONGER!

What’s one thing you are now able to do that you didn’t think was possible before StrongerLife? There isn’t really one thing, for me, it’s more that I go through my daily life with more confidence and much more efficiently. Overall, I feel so much better, stronger, and energized.

What would you tell others that are considering joining StrongerLife? Come join us for a month and try it out. You will be amazed how, in a relatively short time, you will improve your strength, balance, energy level, and mental health (it just feels good to exercise!).

What challenges were you facing when you started working with us? How did that make you feel? I was losing functional strength. It was becoming an effort to hike long distances, garden, even walk my dog daily. These activities often resulted in an aching back or sore knee. I also found I was less energetic.

What did you notice about us that was different from similar businesses you've worked with in the past? The coaches. In my former gym, there were exercise leaders that you just followed their moves as best you could for an hour. At StrongerLife, the coaches explain before every workout what we are going to be doing, why it helps in our daily life and detailed demos of how to do the workouts. Once the workout begins, they carefully watch us, encourage and correct us for proper form. Such a difference! They ensure we have fitness knowledge and confidence in our journey to reach our personal best.

What's your favorite song or band to listen to while you work out? Any old time rock and rock, of course!

Think back to your first day at StrongerLife. How did you feel? Nervously excited. Everyone was very welcoming and encouraging which was a great start but then I walked in and had to get a barbell!

StrongerLife hosts the best senior group fitness classes in Lexington, KY. We focus on improving people’s Physical, Mental, & Social health. Science-based programs led by professional coaches.
